QUESTION

What an interesting opportunity you have there. The answer is: one that has a proven track record of working (see point #2 for spoiler). The solution needs to consider the emotional side of change.

ANSWER

  1. Decide on the most appropriate framework
I’ve talked before about the Kübler-Ross framework. It helps us identify or name what the subjects of the change may be feeling. With that knowledge, we can then develop tactics, activities or communications to ‘flatten the curve.’ Reduce the time and variance between shock and integration. The key to The Kübler-Ross model is that it starts when the change has occurred.
  • However, this situation sounds like you are attempting to get your C-Suite to consider or decide to make the change. Here, you will be better off leveraging a framework and implementing a change program that will manage the targets of the change as they build the target state. In this case, you will need a change management plan to move the minds and hearts of the leaders of your company. There is one successful model I have have used. It provides a framework for this kind of change: Prosci’s ADKAR method.
